Khadeidra J. Willis, born, raised, and educated in Belle Glade, Florida, is a proud ambassador of community and athletics in the Glades and its surrounding areas. Holding the titles of Wife, Mother, Mentor, and former Athletic Director, Khadeidra has committed her life to enhancing the lives of young men and women through the scope of athletics. Post graduating from Glades Central Community High School in 2005, she matriculated at Florida International University in Miami, Florida where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation & Sports Management and a Master of Science Degree in Higher Education Administration at the tender age of 23. Khadeidra lives a life of being a great role model to not only her 9- and 6-year-old daughters, but also to Student-Athletes as she is always reaching back to help others achieve their goals.
Khadeidra began her career in the area of athletics, while completing her undergrad degree, in the Athletic Department at FIU-creating and managing contracts with the Athletic Director, football recruitment, Track and Field administration, basketball media and stats, and student-athlete development and community relations. It was with the latter that she connected with her life purpose. She also had the privilege to work along-side Hall of Fame basketball legend Isaiah Thomas, where she was charged with the duty of welcoming and training his staff to collegiate basketball. She knew that she wanted to one-day return home to help Student-Athletes achieve their goals and was able to do so as an Athletic Director at Glades Central Community High School. Being a part of a school with such a rich athletic history, known for producing great professional athletes, Khadeidra was determined to help each of them achieve not only their athletic goals but educational goals as well.
Khadeidra is recognized for her dedication, commitment, mentorship, and love for Student-Athletes, not only in her hometown but throughout the state of Florida. Her expertise with NCAA compliance, college recruitment, and overall athletics has assisted over 300 athletes accomplish their goal of becoming collegiate athletes. Khadeidra has personally mentored eight young ladies over the past eight years, chaperoned Student-Athletes on college tours, and prepared students for the transition from high school to college. She has presented NCAA compliance seminars throughout the state of Florida to coaches, parents and Student-Athletes, coordinated college exposure tours and chaperoned Students-Athletes to college and pro games, and organized community relations activities to help Student-Athletes understand the rewards of giving back to their community. These activities included but were not limited to, hurricane relief and food drives, toy drives and reading at elementary schools during National Reading Literacy Week. Her superior accomplishments have been voiced by her colleagues, student parents, mentors, and other community leaders. Over the years, working with student-athletes and losing some to detrimental paths, Khadeidra discovered that there was more she could and wanted do. In the summer of 2022, she completed classes and received a graduate certification in Sports Counseling and Student-Athlete Mental Health from California University (CALU).
Khadeidra has had many accolades bestowed upon her as she is a 2018 recipient of “Thrive for a Change” Community Service Award, 2018 Woman Volunteer of the Year Nominee and through her dedication to her surrounding communities, she serves on many boards. She has found her way to serving more citizens in the Glades area through her current Stated Legislative Aide position, and in the Fall of 2022, she launched her very own business #WORK21, LLC to further her life purpose.
